Lux Grand Gaube hotels and resorts’ trendy, imaginative and clever touches are reflected in the paint brushes by the beach to dust the sand off your feet, homemade ice cream served out of a converted white mini beside the cove and even drone-flying lessons.
The food here is fabulous. Of the six restaurants, I love the Turkish restaurant, Bodrum Blue, in a lovely setting. The South American restaurant, Inti, with an Argentinian chef, is also good, and cosy for couples in the evening.
The simple but lovely, rooms and suites, set in Mediterranean-style villas around the bays, have lots of natural light and exceptionally comfortable beds, so you’ll get a good nights’ sleep. We recommend romantic Junior suites for couples, with outdoor bathtubs, and for families, the family suites with a double sofabed for children and two bathrooms. Three large Lux* Villas on a private peninsula, have wonderful sea views.
The resort has two tranquil beaches, and is safe for swimming in the shallows, and three swimming pools, including an adult-only infinity pool in the banyan tree area. It is active, with complimentary paddle boarding, water skiing and four tennis courts. There are bikes to borrow, hiking and for keen golfers, the 18 hole Mont Choisy course lies nearby. A LUX* Me spa offers tailormade treatments focusing on anti-ageing, fitness and weight loss, and there’s a Murdock Barber shop for men and excellent classes, including pilates, at the gym.
