As you drive up to the Four Seasons Resort, what’s striking are the jungle-like tropical gardens, with incredible plants and trees including huge Banyans, with creepers and air plants, throughout the property. Outstanding food and service is the key element of your holiday at this Mauritian resort, which is a good option for those seeking privacy as the all-villa accommodation is peaceful and secluded. It is a wonderful base for family holidays. The staff go out of their way to make younger guests feel especially welcome. There is a dedicated club for younger children, which has its own supervised swimming & paddling pool. There is also an amphitheatre, bakery, quiet room, playroom and sandpit. The Four Seasons Resort also comprises of activities for young adults. There is Karokan, where they can play table tennis, table football, computer games, and watch home cinema. There is even a DJ booth.   The 123 spacious Villas and Residence Villas are beautifully appointed and very comfortable, with natural wood furnishings and filled with light. They have sublime views of mountains, mangroves and the beach.   Of four excellent restaurants, there’s a very nice lunch restaurant by the beach and a notable contemporary Italian, Aquapazza, on the waterfront. If a golfer, it has one of the most fabulous golf courses on the island on the property, designed by Ernie Els and a golf academy with private lessons and daily golf clinics. The Spa is good, and nestled on a mangrove islet, offers therapies reflecting the many cultures of Mauritius. Two Aqua Vichy rooms offer the opportunity to truly relax, and are a favourite with couples.

Susie suggests:

  • Each villa gets guest bicycles to use during their stay
  • Definitely take a trip to the resorts exclusive beach on Ile aux Cerfs for lunch under a Bedouin-style canvas
