It’s good value for sporty families in the Mauritian summer (in winter, it’s quite exposed), with four floodlit tennis courts, complimentary table tennis, French bowling and nine-hole mini golf also on site, and a kids club open 12 hours a day.
Go for prestige rooms with colour tones of orange and red around a pool and junior suites with at the far end, by the swimming beach (which are quieter), which are decorated in ocean blues. The two-storey villas are comfortable, with their own private pool, although only one is on the beach (but not a swimming beach).
There is a fantastic range of seven restaurants and six bars to choose from at Constance Belle Mare Plage. Lunch is at Indigo, Deer Hunter, Le Swing and LAKAZE. An early evening bite to eat can be found at LAKAZE, and a five-course meal at either Blue Penny Cellar or Deer Hunter. An international menu is on offer at La Citronnelle, while La Spiaggia Mediterranean restaurant provides a relaxing atmosphere and simple Mediterranean dishes.
The bars are equally appealing, from wine flights with tapas and wine-food pairing dinners in the Blue Penny Cellar to lovely views over Links golf course at sunset drinks at The Deer Hunter restaurant.
Constance Belle Mare Plage Hotel is a premier golfing retreat, but you don’t have to be a golfer to enjoy all it has to offer.
