Located in a predator and malaria free 7500 hectare reserve, an ecological oasis just three hours from Cape Town, the retreat lies among open plains and rough-hewn sandstone formations. This magical landscape is home to over 130 ancient Bushman rock art sites, some dating back 10,000 years. This multi-award-winning family-owned retreat is a National Geographic Unique Lodge of the World, located in the Cape Floral Kingdom, the smallest, but richest of the six floral kingdoms in the world, with incredible diversity. Bushmans Kloof has been consistently praised for its outstanding dedication to the preservation of the reserve, a sanctuary for many species of endangered flora and fauna including the rare Cape leopard and one of the world’s largest privately owned herds of Cape Mountain Zebras. A South African National Heritage Site, Bushmans Kloof is also custodian of over 130 ancient Bushman rock art sites, some dating back 10,000 years. As a Relais & Châteaux property, the lodge serves excellent authentic and creative Cape cuisine with produce from the organic garden and indigenous fynbos (fine-leaved plants) and an award-winning wine list, accompanied by a roaring fire and candles and lanterns under the stars. It offers splendid luxury, award-winning service and generous hospitality. Bushmans Kloof can accommodate 34 guests in its beautifully proportioned rooms and suites amidst botanical gardens and pristine wilderness, with all the mod cons. An extremely well-appointed private villa, Koro Lodge, a restored farmhouse sleeps ten so is ideal for larger groups and surrounded by open vistas of wilderness where you can spot wildlife.
