We have recently returned from a wonderfully relaxing, spoiling, and enjoyable trip to the Maldives created by Susie at Susie Freeman Travel. All travels were straightforward and the recommended CIP in Male both ways is worth every penny. No waiting, no queuing, no hassle, and definitely the way to start and finish a holiday. The overall holiday was spectacular and the two resorts that we stayed at were very different in many ways. This ranged from size, to a beach villa vs overwater villa, half-board to full board, even the house reefs were very different.

Baros clearly has a loyal following, which is understandable. A very small island and easily reached by boat from Male.

As you may recall, we largely booked this for the snorkelling on the house reef. Unfortunately on the three days we were there it was quite windy and actually not really accessible and certainly not unless you were a strong swimmer. We did book a private trip with a boat and guide to their other house reef which was spectacular and very encouraging to see such beautiful and alive coral.

We then moved directly by boat transfer to Gili Lankanfushi.

In our opinion, this is a serious notch up, whilst recognising that any resort in the Maldives is personal and subjective to each and every guest. It is a wonderful resort in every aspect. The management, service, quality, passion were all first class.

We had a wonderful room with an excellent Friday. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner were varied, plentiful, and all excellent.  Lots of options from in-room dining, market style buffet, a la carte, Japanese, Tepanyaki, picnics along with an extensive and reasonably priced wine list.

The spa is stunning with overwater treatment rooms with glass floors and good therapists.

There were a couple of in-house snorkeling options which were great but also some trips. We went on the ray trip which was pretty amazing.

Anyhow, fantastic overall trip and sincere thanks again.
