The hotel
A beautifully scenic, 25-minute flight by seaplane from Malé, Constance Halaveli is just 30 minutes by boat from sister hotel Constance Moofushi – perfect for guests who want to experience both resorts.
Families are well looked after, with beach villas that come with bunk rooms and a kids’ club (for ages 4-11) that runs until 9pm, with treasure hunts, face-painting and hermit crab-racing. Unusually, the entry-level rooms are the overwater villas, each a generous 100 sq m with a deck featuring a private plunge pool.
Days can be spent snorkelling nose-to-fin with rainbow-coloured fish, and there are kayaks, a tennis court and a scuba dive school. Food is indulgent; don’t miss overwater restaurant Jing for octopus sashimi and Wagyu beef tenderloin, or Sri Lankan-style curries using local fish at toes-in-the-sand Meeru.
