One&Only, Cape Town
One&Only Cape Town is a large and glossy luxury urban sanctuary a mere 300 metres from the fashionable V&A Waterfront, with views of iconic Table Mountain from most rooms.
The hotel
With a chic design and contemporary African flair, at the centre of the One&Only Cape Town hotel is a huge light-filled atrium. A lushly landscaped island gives the sense of a luxury private island resort, with a fittingly gigantic meandering pool, paces from the bustling marina.
Of the resorts three restaurants, Nobu is my favourite. The more business-style Reubens showcases the work of the popular local chef after which it is named, while Isola serves pizzas and seafood poolside in summer. With floor to ceiling windows, Vista, the hotel’s plush lounge bar, is the place to drink in views of Table Mountain.
One&Only Cape Town’s rooms and suites are the largest in the city. The crescent-shaped architecture of its seven-storey Marina Rise means all 91 rooms and suites enjoy uninterrupted views of the marina, Table Mountain, or both. Forty suites lie on the private island.
Service standards and excellent facilities are everything you’d expect from One&Only, from helicopter transfers to the award-winning Spa Island, with endless pools, ‘experience showers’ and treatments from nurturing therapists. One&Only Cape Town is excellent for families with its huge pool and a Kids Only Club with a daily activity programme. A location-specific twist includes early morning SUP (Stand Up Paddling) in the canal. The resort can also arrange wildlife safaris, wine country excursions and trips to pristine white sand beaches.

Book a third floor or higher Marina room which feature views of Table Mountain You can also choose between King or Queen rooms; the latter have two queen beds and can sleep a family of four.
Pre book a table at Nobu, which is a true destination restaurant.
For families. This hotel is a great option. Aside from the huge pool – there is the "Kids Only" clubhouse that is open from 10am to 6pm, offering a daily programme of supervised activities, including arts and crafts, games, cooking and an outside play area. Programmes and day trips for teenagers are also available.
