Londolozi Private Game Reserve, Kruger National Park

This is one of my all-time favourite safari lodges and one that I can go back to again and again. The game viewing is some of the very best I have experienced in South Africa and they are particularly good at finding leopards.

Situated in the heart of Sabi Sands private game reserve, in Kruger National Park, it was the first camp in South Africa. The Londolozi experience is all about immersion into ‘life in the bush’, and you’ll be surprised at the range of activities that you can do in a day. You can learn about ancient healing methods and philosophies, discuss environmental management and visit the Shangaan village. Then there is a nature massage, bush yoga in the Healing House or a moonlit bush dinner to enjoy.

There are five camps to choose from at Londolozi, all connected by a walkway through the bush, along the Sand River. The camps vary in exclusivity, style and décor and price, and we match the type of accommodation to your individual taste. The Private Granite Suites are the crème de la crème, followed closely by Pioneer Camp and Tree Camp. Pioneer and Varty are my personal favourites as they are ‘older’ in style and more authentic while Granite and Tree are very modern and contemporary.

All the rangers and guides are true professionals. As a Relais & Châteaux recognised camp, the food is delicious. Londolozi is world renowned for its conservation ideology, innovative thinking, dedication to perfection and strong family values. The Varty family who own it are really hands on and mingle with the guests, making for interesting conversations around the camp fire late at night!
