A tropical paradise with an elegant Asian twist offering a Robinson Crusoe-style private island experience.

the hotel

Located in pretty Trou D’Eau Douce bay, Shangri-La’s Le Touessrok has five white-sand beaches and its own private island escape, Ilôt Mangénie, a 15-minute boat ride away from the resort. Come here when you want to wallow in rock pools with a glass of chilled Chateau Minuty, while the scent of barbecued lobster fills the air. There’s an Asian elegance to the hotel, with tables made from teak trunks and rattan day beds.

The spacious Frangipani suites come with free minibars, while families will love the kids’ club – one of the best in Mauritius – and the Hibiscus rooms that lead directly onto one of the resort’s beaches.

There are four tennis courses and two 18-hole golf courses, one on its own island, Ile aux Cerfs, as well as five dining options including modern Indian cuisine at Safran and sushi restaurant Kushi. The spa has its own ayurvedic garden where guests can custom make massage oils.
