The hotel

Located on its own peninsula, with a sandy cove and gorgeous views of the northern islands, this colonial-style adults-only boutique hideaway is perfect for honeymoons and couples. There are thatched cabanas by the cove, swing beds for gazing at the lapping waves below, and paths snaking through manicured gardens to a dazzling cliff-top infinity pool.

The 75 sea-facing rooms and suites have plantation-style furniture, muslin-draped four-poster beds and balconies. Stay in the roomier Junior Suites with an extra sitting room, or, opt for the larger Senior Suites with two sweeping terraces.

Complimentary activities include waterskiing, stargazing and yoga, and the hotel can organise special ‘You&Me’ moments such as island-hopping by traditional pirogue for snorkelling and a picnic or private dinners on the beach.

The Cinq Mondes spa offers treatments based on ancient healing rituals, while four restaurants range from Mauritian fusion dishes at the Dining Room to tapas-style cuisine at the Peninsula Restaurant.
