Peaceful and quiet, this boutique resort offers all-villa accommodation on the sheltered west coast of the island, with stunning views of Le Morne. The 65 Maradiva Villas, each with their own private plunge pools, a large veranda and 24-hour butler service, are set in 27 acres of lovely tropical gardens. People tend to stay in their villas, so it suits honeymooners or couples looking for seclusion. It is also a good place for wellness breaks, with an excellent, generous-sized ayurvedic spa, with a selection of Ayurvedic therapies, aromatherapy, massages, detoxification and cleansing wraps, and yoga. Although many people opt for the luxury of in-villa dining, the three restaurant choices include an authentic Indian restaurant, and an array of pan-Asian dishes set around an interactive Teppanyaki cooking counter. It also offers Japanese, Thai, Indian and Mauritian cookery classes.
The Maradiva Villas hotel is in a great location for exploring the capital city, Port Louis, and it’s a walk along the beach to lively Flic en Flac. The hotel offers sightseeing tours in a luxury Rolls Royce, which can whisk you for a gourmet picnic on a deserted beach. And if you are a golfer its only a five minute drive to the Tamarin 18 hole golf course.
